For those of you who had already attended the Constitution Alive DVD sessions shown around the region recently, you probably had an idea of what we were in for, and you got it in spades! It may seem hard to believe, but Rick Green can actually talk faster than the human eye can follow the text on the screen! But this process is worth experiencing for all the insightful information presented in the fast three hours we spent in this free presentation at the Mabank High School Auditorium on September 15.
It would be impossible to include all that was presented. I cannot type 1500 words/minute, to begin with. Highlights will have to suffice to let you know what was said and what WE THE PEOPLE should be doing. Much of the information was directly from the DVD sessions, but with humorous and poignant emphasis at select points in the program. This will stick with you: We are now served under a “Court-stitution,” not a Constitution. Our original structure of Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches have been stood on end with the original least powerful branch now superseding all other branches and authority. There are numerous quotes available from our founding fathers, in which they strongly believed that under the Constitutional form of government there was no fear of despotic behavior from that branch of government. Caveat: IF we continue to follow the structure and authority of the original Constitution. Unfortunately, We the People have been very derelict in allowing this socialist creep into our political process.
Rick also strongly recommended that serious consideration be given to a Convention of States, as outlined in Article 5 of our Constitution as a path we should take to correct the multitude of misinterpretations and abuses in our political system. Rick admitted that when He first thought of following this course of action as presented in Mark Levin’s book, The Liberty Amendments, he was against it. Many in Conservative circles still have a fear of a runaway convention resulting in the destruction of the Constitution we all revere. When you understand the process that is involved in amending our Constitution, these fears are removed. Even in the first Constitutional Convention there are instances of delegates being recalled by their state legislatures for not following the agreed upon lines that they were operating under. The same options are in place today. No fear.
Other examples were given of the follies committed by our government down through the years. Follies which can be corrected if we have the courage to fight for our culture and way of life. Toward the end of the meeting Rick drew our attention to one of the 26 grievances against King George, which are stated in our Declaration of Independence. After a brief pause with the grievance on the screen, He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance, the audience almost unanimously groaned it’s recognition of the Obama Regime’s actions against We the People.
Rick continues to tour the country with his family delivering his message of hope and real change for America. We wish him well and God’s speed.
