Congressman Jeb Hensarling (TX-CD5) helped fulfill President-Elect Donald Trump’s request with his vote.
WASHINGTON—Congressman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, released the following statement upon House passage of a Continuing Resolution to fund the Federal government:
“I would much rather work with President Trump next year than negotiate right now with President Obama on the entirety of our nation’s budget priorities for 2017. By passing this Continuing Resolution today, we fund the government through April and set the stage for President-elect Trump to work with a Republican-controlled House and Senate to finish our spending bills and further advance our Conservative agenda. This Continuing Resolution fulfills the President-elect’s request, and I look forward to working with him to prioritize economic growth and opportunity for all Americans and to use Congress’ power of the purse to restore common sense to the Federal government.”
