Mrs Mewjeski’s “The Truth of the Madder” – Governmental Cushing’s
“Cushing’s disease usually strikes older dogs with a bucket-full of symptoms that can mimic other diseases. Increased appetite, increased drinking and urination, panting, high blood pressure, bulging abdomen, skin lumps and discoloring, hair loss, muscle weakness, and nervous system disorders can occur with the disease.”
And our dog has it.
Most folks say, “Maybe it’s time to put her down”.
But she’s not in pain, still enjoys some things, and I love her…….so that’s NOT an option.
Even if she piddles on herself and everything around her, including herself; poops whenever and wherever the feeling strikes her; and even if her only interest seems to be “being fed.”
and this got me to thinking……….
Maybe Governments are like dogs.
They start out unruly, inexperienced, and un-housebroken. They eventually gather some experience and knowledge, find their place in life, do their job of taking care of the home, and turn into a pretty good dog.
But then they mature, lose their edge, and slow down.
Eventually, they develop dementia, start pooping and piddling on everyone and everything, don’t understand why they shouldn’t, and are only interested in “being fed” (i.e. taxes).
It’s really too bad; there was a time when it was a pretty good government…….
I hate to say it, but,…….”Maybe it’s Time.”
We’d be doing it, not to mention ourselves, a kindness.
And we’d finally, “Get rid of that Smell.”
