Texas AG Ken Paxton Cleared Once Again of False Allegations
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has been cleared of any wrong doing in regard to a case being investigated by Kaufman County District Attorney Erleigh Wiley.
Since Collin County officials were recused, Administrative Judge Mary Murphy appointed Wiley to investigate whistle blower allegations that Paxton had illegally received into a legal defense fund, $100,000 from James Webb, the CEO of Preferred Imaging. Wiley had to consider whether State laws limit gifts to public officials from those subject to their jurisdiction.
Matt Welch, Paxton Campaign Spokesman said, “We are pleased, but not surprised, that Attorney General Paxton was once again cleared of false allegations. He is resolute in his commitment to defend the Constitution and carry out the job he was elected to do.”
