Meet Your Local Master Gardeners
Do you have gardening questions? Are you interested in learning how to become a Master Gardener? Are you curious about the Master Gardener volunteer program? The public is invited to meet Master Gardeners from Henderson County Master Gardener Association (HCMGA) and County Extension Agent Spencer Perkins at the Clint W. Murchison Memorial Library, 121 S. Prairieville, Athens, on Tuesday, August 21, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This event is a part of HCMGA’s “Learn at the Library” series.
This informal come-and-go Meet and Greet is different from most HCMGA’s “Learn at the Library” presentations, which generally cover only one topic. Present will be several Master Gardeners who have an abundance of gardening expertise in various gardening areas. This event allows you to ask any garden-related question. You are encouraged to bring stems, leaves, or photos of plants to help show the problem or symptoms.
If you have an interest in gardening and have considered becoming a Master Gardener, applications for acceptance into the upcoming class will be available. Come hear about the Master Gardener program and how you can become a Master Gardener. The class begins Friday, August 31, at Trinity Valley Community College. This is a great time to get all your questions answered about the class or the requirements for completing certification as a Master Gardener.
HCMGA is a non-profit organization and all Master Gardeners are volunteers. Come hear how you too, can join this fun organization whose mission is to help educate the public about horticulture. You will not want to miss this opportunity to meet your local Master Gardeners and have all your garden-related questions answered.
