Canton Eagles: Homecoming Festivities, Parade, and Pep Rally
The Canton Eagles ignited the football team with their Homecoming Parade on Monday, September 24, 2018. The Parade started at Canton Jr. High and ended at the Courthouse Square for another small pep rally, firing up the community in anticipation of the Friday night homecoming football game.
The JV and Varsity Cheerleaders led the crowd in chants of support, encouraging the players to beat the Panthers for the win. The eagles will host Quinlan Ford High School’s Panthers in hopes of their first district victory. The Mighty Canton Eagle’s Band was on-site, and the crowd screamed as the Varsity players danced along with the cheerleaders.
The Eagles community came together even though they were hurting over the loss of one of their own. The Canton Elementary lost one of their teachers Mrs. Tammy Cargle on September 21, 2018. Mrs. Cargle was a teacher’s aide for the Canton Elementary. Donations to autismspeaks.org are being accepted in her memory. If you choose to give, there is an account set up at the First State Bank of Ben Wheeler.
Good Luck Eagles, the fighting Mean Green! Are you ready for Friday Night Lights? We are and we will be cheering on the Dirty Birds as they take the field this Friday September 28, for Homecoming!
