Representative Keith Bell Sworn in as State Representative to House District 4
(Austin, Tx) – Tuesday, January 8, Keith Bell took the oath of office and was sworn in as the Texas State Representative of House District 4 for the 86th Texas Legislature. Dozens of family members, friends, constituents and well-wishers watched as Secretary of State David Whitley administered the oath to Bell and his colleagues.
Representative Bell anticipates spending the next 140 days working on school finance reform and property tax relief. “I will continue to be a proponent for our kids, as I have been for decades. You can’t have meaningful property tax reform if you don’t fix school finance,” Bell said. Other issues on the table include private property rights, school safety, and maintaining local control. Bell also looks forward to working with Speaker of the House Dennis Bonnen. Bell stated, “Speaker Bonnen has stated school finance reform is his number one priority.”
“I’m excited and encouraged where the session is going. People expect us to get to work. We need to have a robust session with great accomplishment. I look forward to advancing the priorities of our community and ensuring that our values are represented before the 86th Legislature,” Bell said.
Constituents are encouraged to stop by the Capitol Office, Room E2.702 or contact the office via telephone at 512-463-0458 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
