Audition for Parts in “Wizard of Oz”
Auditions for parts in the production of “Wizard Of Oz”, written by Frank L. Baum, will be held at The Talent Box, a nonprofit community theatre, located in the Wills Point Visual And Performing Arts Centre, 105 N. 4th Street, Wills Point. The auditions will be Sunday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. and Monday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. Performance dates are June 7-9 and June 14-15, 2019.
Laura Collins of Wills Point will direct this play and needs five males and four females, ages 16 and up; Munchkins children ages 5 to 14 and Extras ages 5 to 70. Piano players are also needed. Participants will read from selected parts from the script and be prepared to speak and sing.
The story:When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard. En route, they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain; a Tin Man missing a heart; and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help. Filled with many wonderful songs and lots of upbeat movements, this musical is sure to make you smile!
